No one likes rules and restrictions, but we use them sparingly just to keep the server safe and enjoyable. Here are the rules for the SMP. Mostly it’s common sense, some I don’t think really should need to be said, but I want to make it clear that it’s not tolerated.
No Griefing
Trying to obstruct, destroy, defile, or any other harmful action towards another player’s builds. No killing claim mobs/pets that are non-natural spawns.
No Spamming
Advertisements that are repeatedly sent multiple times over 4-5 minutes, excessive spam, and languages other than English in public chat are not allowed. Advertisements of the same items, location or service fall under the same rule.
No Cursing/No Constant Cursing
We’re trying to keep the server family-friendly, so let’s keep the Cursing and the NSFW content outta Chat and safely in the NSFW discord channels.
No Inappropriate Behaviour
We do not allow NSFW, 18+ Topics/Jokes, Nudity, Sexual behaviour, or Heavy Profanity. Suggestive/borderline “risky” conversations are also not allowed.
No Harassment
Do not be impolite, disrespectful or inconsiderate. We suggest using the ‘/ignore’ command if you do not get along with another player.
No Discrimination & Racism
Any kind of communication in speech, writing or behaviour, that attacks or uses pejorative or discriminatory language with reference to a person or a group on the basis of who they are, in other words, based on their religion, ethnicity, nationality, race, colour, descent, gender or other identity factors are NOT allowed
No Asking for OP, or Ranks
Our Staff Positions open up for application and we review these. OP perms are not something we will ever give out when not 100% needed. Ranks can be earned. We have put a lot of effort into making the journey fun
Please be lag considerate
The server is no slouch, but please help us out to give everyone a good experience. Try not to build huge laggy redstone contraptions. Make sure all redstone machines can be toggled off
No Stealing
Our members have worked hard to get the items and materials they have. Please don’t go stealing items from other members.
Signpost your builds
Please make it clearly visible who built what and if it’s private or public.
No Private Builds within Spawn chunks
If a build is within the spawn chunks, it’s a public build. Same goes with the community farms – if it’s a public build or a community farm, taking items won’t be classified as stealing, but griefing is still griefing.
We’re all here to have fun, so these rules are potentially up for change. Infractions can be punished from anything as small as being given a warning to being permabanned from the server, depending upon the severity of the infraction.
If you want to dispute a punishment, please use the submit a dispute below, as VainCraft Discord recommends only allowing messages from users who are your friends or with whom you share a server. It’s very unlikely you will receive a response via Discord after being banned.
